Led Zeppelin was the definitive heavy metal band. It wasn't just their crushingly loud interpretation of the blues -- it was how they incorporated mythology, mysticism, and a variety of other genres (most notably world music and British folk) -- into their sound. Led Zeppelin had mystique. They rarely gave interviews, since the music press detested the band. Consequently, the only ... Read more in Amazon's Led Zeppelin Store

Complete Studio Recordings (1993.) A box set covering Led Zeppelin's entire career.
Led Zeppelin. These guys have become known as gods of rock over the years, and with good reason. Their music puts that of this or any other decade to shame. Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page, and John Bonham were musical geniuses, and it was about time they put all of their albums together in one handy set. The Led Zeppelin Complete Studio recordings brings it all together at long last. Read on for my review of this set.
-Every last one of Led Zeppelin's studio albums is in this set. Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin II, Led Zeppelin III, Led Zeppelin IV, Houses Of The Holy, Presence, Physical Graffiti, In Through The Out Door, and the outtake collection album Coda are all here for your listening pleasure.
-The version of the Coda compilation included with this set features four hard-to-find bonus tracks.
-Unlike the other Led Zeppelin box sets, this one isn't a scattershot mixture of tracks - it's got EVERY studio album.
-A handy booklet is included with the set. The booklet contains useful information (release dates for albums/singles, etc.), as well as a new essay by legendary rock journalist Cameron Crowe.
-You save money by purchasing this set. If you were to buy every Led Zeppelin album separately, you would end up spending more than you would for this box set. The price looks steep at first glance, but in actuality, it's a great deal.
-I'm not too crazy about the way the individual CDs were packaged in the set. Two CDs each are in five slipcases, each of which contains the art to the two albums, as well as the basic liner note informaton. It's hard to get the CDs out of these slipcases, because you must grab the edge of them.

Led zeppelin. The Complete Studio Recordings.
I have just purchased the above boxed CD set and it is with great pleasure and confidence that I write this review for any interested parties.
I don't really listen to rock music much these days. I am more likely to listen to Bach and Hayden. Ambient piano musics...

But there does come a time when I want to listen to rock music, to hear a group of guys get it on; doing the boy thing, blues based exploratory debauched travelogue. Sex, drugs n youth. Led Zeppelin have always met all these criteria. Look no further. Its all here.
No need to review the music. We all know it. On receiving it the first thing I reached for within the beautifully packaged box was Houses of the Holy. Why?
Well for me, it always appeared to be the weakest link in continuity on the relentless upward march on the Stairway to Kashmir. If Kashmir (or there about) was their peak. Then Houses never made sense to me in the scheme of things.
By scheme of things I mean 4 PERFECT albums each succeeding the other, ever onwards, upwards and inwards. Led Zeppelin 1. A debut. An acknowledgement of their roots. A statement of intent. These are our parameters these are the paths we want to follow. Light n shade. Led Zeppelin 2. The Shade. The brown Bomber. The mother of all riffs... Led Zeppelin 3. The light. Just when you thought you had it figured. Subverting the subversives. Break the moulds before the moulds have set.
Led Zeppelin IV (call it what u like) All that has gone before focused and pinpointed, finely tuned down and edited to eight tracks. No excess baggage. This is rock n roll. A professional unit. The 60's are over.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential Collection. 12 July 2000
Format:Audio CD
The heights of achievement by this band within the rock genre may never be reached again. This excellent compilation of their studio albums is an essential, if somewhat expensive, addition to any true Zep believer.
Explosive energy, well know classics, surreal, moody songwriting combined with a quality of soul rarely present within bands of this ilk all combine to form a considered and complete band.
Buy it. An audiological roller-coaster reflecting the full spectrum of human emotions, from teenage angst to soulful and wise commentaries on the nature of human relationships. Yes, there's fun in there too.
You will never be the same again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cool! 8 Feb 2008
By Emily
Format:Audio CD
I really love this, it's a pressie for valentine's day, but I'm quite keen to keep it!

Although it has mixed reviews in terms of packaging I like it. What you get it basically a patterned grey/black box. The lid lifts up on the top to reveal the spines of 5 CD cases and a CD shaped booklet. Each CD case contains 2 CDs and the track listings etc.

Oh, and the music's pretty good too! ;-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Zeppelin flies 14 Feb 2007
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
When you are down with flu and start surfing amazon with a Led Zep DVD on the widescreen you start to think why dont I check that complete studio set I read about and promised myself last birthday-so I did after the second time the dvd was blasting out Kashmir and thinking yes its my birthday again in 2 weeks time. I looked - I looked again-the price surely cannot be right it must be the flu-it wasnt - the whole collection for less than 7 an album - and when it turned up in its usual prompt Amazon way in a very good looking display box and the album covers reproduced in the slip cases-well it really must be my birthday (almost) {and dont forget the 30 page book plus pictures and album track credits}-if you havent got this dont wait to age any longer-just get it!
