How closely does the book follow the TV series?

Do we see all those wonderful little sketches, graphics & artwork in the book that were shown in the tv series?
Do we get the same level of commentary about his wonderful garden that we get in the tv series? and the quirky little tips from his mates?

None of this appears to be answered in the synopsis or reviews.

My son bought me this book for Xmas, and the sketches are conspicuous by their absense, which rather suprised me. But recipes that look nothing on the page do look good on the tv, and the style is the same chatty one he uses. there are growing tips, and far more recipes than he can fit in on the programme
