Having recently started on my own after 15 years as a newspaper staff photographer I had to buy a complete camera kit. There is no escape from buying a Nikon/Canon body and lenses. But you can save an absolute fortune on ancilleries such as this cheap chinese copy from Amazon and that well known auction site. My theory is that if a piece of equipment is not optically integral to the camera it does'nt matter where it comes from. If you're worried about reliability, buy two or three, but the build quality is probably 90% as good as the real thing. Allso bare in mind that sellers on Amazon and the other site are kept on their toes by the rating system. So they're not going to sell rubbish.

flash trigger 6 May 2010
cheap and cheerful, but it works; a bit of a delay in receiving, and no contact despite messaging; Having said that, it just about made my deadline for the job in hand. The product is probably not the toughest, but if you need a budget trigger that functions its ok.
