Don't even try to charge the battery; it will explode. Replace the battery with a 3v CR2032, or equivalent. These are obtainable from any Chinese Emporium. Don't forget to press "reset" after replacement.

Can't be recharged, as such, but you can replace battery. 1x CR2032 battery, available from most retailers who stock watch batteries. Once replaced, press 'reset'.

No. The previous version I had was nearly 20 years old and I did not need to replace the battery, so it should last for a long time

Not as far as I know. Have to bye a new battery. If anyone knows differently I am sorry for wrong information
