A short and concise book about the kinds of technology which have marked turning points in our history. I devoured it in one sitting and came away feeling like i'd learned enough to ace the technology round in our local pub quiz!

Apple haggiography 27 Jan 2012

Just looked through the index...
There are 6 'breakthrough' inventions attributed to Apple, but the Internet and the data cabling that enables it are not even mentioned. The vast strides in the storage of information since the first hard drive also are not considered worthy of comment.
This does not look like an objective technical review!

basic facts, not very interesting 5 April 2012
By S. Neff - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Most of the early inventions are covered in a paragraph or two with very little detail. Most of the detail is provided for inventions of the past ten years which is all common knowledge. The author's choice of which devices to include and which to leave out are sometimes surprising.
