I have just invested in a breadmaker at long last but wondered if anyone could recommend a good recipe book to help me with the different breads. I have looked at a few which let you see inside but there are loads with no clue as to their contents. One family member wants American bread so I need a recipe for that. It's similar to ours but sweeter. Great for French toast. Been using Brioche but it's too rich really.

What I have found is that most of the books have breads that are not for breadmakers but also have sections that specifically contain recipes for breadmakers.

I would also check out a website for King Arthur Flour which is in the USA. They ave a lot of recipes there and also discussions on techniques. They have a lot of sections on bread machines that might point you to what you need to know.
