just bought a case for my new iPad mini. cannot get the stand to support the pad. there seems nothing to hold it up.

The stand should fold into a triangle which should then provide the support to stand. If it's not supporting the iPad it could be defective

Simply use the screen cover part of the case as illustrated in the picture ie folding it twice to form a triangular shape stand . It works every time & works well.

I was disappointed in this, from the illustration I expected it to be easier and firmer. You need to fiddle with it and then cross your fingers that it holds

It's a bit tricky, however you will be able to it only if you turn the cover the back side of the iPad then try to fold the cover into a stand. I found it hard at first too
