This book was action packed right from the start - the first page had a car crash which resulted in a forest fire and a hospital stay for Shelby! Upon leaving the hospital Shelby moves in to a cottage, on the large estate belonging to Jackson and Diane, to await the arrival of the babies that will be theirs when born. Once there Shelby quickly realises that things are not at all as they seem and she, as well as others, are in very real danger.

As Shelby begins to piece things together we come to find that she may be naive but she certainly has courage and quick thinking on her side when it matters. She also has the support of her brother Dexter who, although he doesn't agree with her surrogacy, is there to help her solve the mystery of what's happening right under her nose. As the story progresses we see Shelby mature and make decisions that are not just based on her best interests but the interests of others too.

Due Date is a fast paced, well thought out, and well written mystery. My heart was seriously beating fast at certain points and I had that strange taste of adrenaline in my mouth! That's definitely the kind of reaction an author of a mystery wants from a reader!

Due Date also offered an intriguing look at the controversial and much debated subject of surrogacy and in some people's opinions "selling a baby made to order". I really enjoyed learning more about the subject and I think the idea to use it, along with the baby selling ring plotline, was genius!

I can't wait to read more from Nancy Wood, hopefully soon.

Since it's already been done, I won't go into detail about the storyline itself. I just want to add my praises for a very well thought-out very well-written book. It grabs your attention immediately and keeps it throughout the book. If this is the first book by this author, I have to say I'm very very impressed (and being a writer myself, quite jealous) with her talent. I will be on the lookout for other books by this author. I paid 77p for this book on Kindle. What a bargain!!! Nancy Wood - a name to look for!

From the very first word, I found this novel a pleasure to read. Filled with wonderful language and word-pictures, tension fills every page as a young woman comes to realize what she's gotten herself into. I love the way the author involves the reader in each minute detail. This put me right into each situation with the main character. For instance, when she searches through her purse, we see exactly what she finds: gum wrappers, used movie tickets, wadded up tissues, balls of hair from her brush, bits of broken shells she'd collected ... Wonderful writing. I rarely give five stars, but this novel is perfect in the way it entertains, grips the reader with apprehension, and holds their interest to the conclusion.

This is no literary masterpiece, but certainly one of the better reads I've stumbled across in my hunt for cheap but worthwhile kindle books. Characters are very near to being three dimensional and the storyline took on an unexpected new direction just when I thought the book was over.
Worth an easy, and somewhat gripping read.

Loved this book, a real page turner. A bit slow and drawn out in some parts but overall a thoroughly good read, well worth the money when I downloaded it, it was only 77p.

Well done Nancy Wood on your debut novel.

The overall story is good but I just felt it was poorly executed. At the point where I thought it should have ended it continued and unfortunately the whole story seemed to be dragged out throughout the book.

I always enjoy a book that gets into the story fast and this one did, the plot was good, I could not believe how many times there was more to it. An altogether enjoyable read difficult to put down.
