I first came across this book when a little boy I baby-sit for received it for his 7th birthday. Once you get over how truly brilliant and intricate the 360 degree pop up format is there is plenty of fun still to be had finding a selection of hidden items, these are tiny and ingeniously hidden all over the ship. The detail is amazing and there is also a nice story and some push out bits and bobs.

I have since purchased 2 copies for my nephews aged 5 and 7. While it needs considerate handling it is remarkably robust, and a great book to explore together. Amazing for the money, I think girls would like it to.

Fascinating book, opens to whole ship in the sea, fantastic pop up, although I wouldn't recommend it for too young a child, it wouldn't last!! But really it amazing and well worth the price. Has all push out charachters to encourage pretend play. Real boys toy/book. Great
