The approach is straightforward and not overburdened with technical information. All a beginner needs to knowin order to start dyeing. -- The Quilter No 88 Autumn 2001

I have been dyeing professionally for a number of years. I was shown this book by a customer who wanted to dabble, and I now use it in my teaching workshops. The information provided is excellent, and this is an ideal way to introduce dyeing using equipment which would otherwise be discarded.
The book is written in a clear and concise way, and easy recipes are included giving a very good starting point.

This is an excellent book for new to dye-ers, and a useful tool for those who have dabbled before. The recipes are simple and the illustrations make you want to pick up your cat-litter tray and get going! It also proves that you don't need much space to create beautiful colours on fabric

This is an approachable, easy to understand book which does not scare the first time dyer who wants to use her kitchen for dyeing. All measurements are in easy to hand form such as cups and spoons. Very useful for someone who wants to experiment with the least amount of fuss and mess.

I was reccommended this book before attending an informal class in dyeing.
Other than "tie dying" in the 60's this was a first time try and I found it easy to follow with interesting results.
Can't wait to have another session.

what an ingenious way of producing dyed fabric. I would never have thought hand dying at home could be as mess free as this. As always, the book was packaged correctly, arrived safely and was easy to remove from its packaging
