I read the book and was NOT impressed. What's in the book is too general and could apply to ANY dog. The author repeats herself and the information provided I feel doesn't apply to JRTs - my JRT in particular doesn't behave that way. There are other books in the market which do a better job. The training techniques recommended are hopeless - I might as well let my puppy run around continuing what she's doing coz the tips don't work!

I did use this book a little, but like to other book that I bought I felt that it was primarily for the US market and some of the things were not necessarily easily available in the UK. Some of the training was ok and has been verified by the trainer that I resorted to eventaully.
I think that some of my problems arose because I think a dog is a dog and not a child. (Although I brought up my four children with quite strict discipline and they have all become good law abiding strong adults). So I am on the side of being stricter. I am sure it works for a lot of people.

Being a dog lover, I have always bought 'the book that goes with the dog'. I find this book to be concise and direct when looking on how to deal with certain issues with by JT's 'personality'. Would recommend.
