More About the Author

Born in Liverpool in 1972, Dave Cornmell was brought up in Skelmersdale before moving south for work. He has been a copywriter in a London advertising agency for the last 14 years, but in his spare time has had a couple of books published. 'Big Daft Fish' was a children's book published in 2001 and tells the tale of a mentally-challenged whale who finds himself beached and in need of some help from his friends, while more recently '364 Days of Tedium' charts the exploits of Santa Claus on his many days off. It is definitely not recommended for children. You can follow Dave on Twitter @Our_Dave. Dave lives with his family in the south of England and continues to write and illustrate in his spare time. He can often be found at Goodison Park, cheering on his beloved Everton.

This is the kind of book I would expect to find in the lavatory at my uncle's house. This statement is not intended to do the book a disservice, quite the opposite. (Although I did once find a copy of Being Jordan in there, but the less said about that the better.) As a general rule, books found in my uncle's lavatory should be easy to dip into, amusing and immediately gratifying. Nothing to testing here, please. (Perhaps Katie Price's tome was not so out of place after all?) My uncle is an intelligent man, who reads widely, but when he is ensconced on his throne, he likes a chuckle. To give you a sense, the kind of reading matter you're likely to find in there is back issues of Private Eye, a Viz annual, something by Spike Milligan and maybe a Monty Python script or two. If any of this sounds up your street, or up the street of the uncle you are trying to find a Christmas present for, I suggest hitting the 'add to basket' button about now.

This is an excellent, funny book. The drawings are quirky - Santa looks like a touch like Alexei Sayle. The ideas for the cartoons are great. Anyone who has wasted time, whether in a red suit or not, will empathise strongly with this Santa. A true original.

I picked this up last year drawn by the amusing cover and the fact I love oddball Christmas stuff.

The book is brilliant and amusing. Basically it tells the story in 3-4 block comic strips of what Santa gets up to on the other 364 days of the year. This book is not for children! Santa is a drinking, overweight, miserable old man, and the book features him in rude and hilarious situations.

The strips are short and sweet and you can get through the book in an hour easily, but I re read it a number of times throughout December, and always laughed loudly.

Yes you need a childish immature imagination to enjoy this book, but that is what Christmas is all about!

Unfortunately, this is shows the downside of what I imagine is a self-published project. The basic idea is a good one but the book needed the eye of a professional designer and editor.

Not for the easily offended and definitely for adults. This is the second time I've picked it up and read all 364 days back to back... it's really funny. One or two of the days are a little tricky to read on a kindle but all in all a cheap and entertaining way to spend an hour. If this ever gets a sequel I'd buy it in a heartbeat. A lot of creativity and thought has gone into this I think it's worth a try.

This is a brilliantly clever, dark, and irresistibly funny book.

A lot of quirky thought that has gone into the concepts that keep Father Christmas 'entertained' all year. The illustrations are funny in themselves and perfectly match the pitch of the humour in the annotations.

This was bought for my Nephew for Christmas and I picked it up to have a quick look though and ended up reading the whole book in 2 days. Its so funny for people with the right kind of humour.

It was funny in part -- the parts I could see! The size of the print meant that some of the pages were impossible to read.
