What type of batteries do these use? I've bought other lights in the past which have had really obscure batteries which are really expensive and a nightmare to source. Don't want a repeat.
Will they work on rechargeables?

One light takes AA batteries, the other takes AAA. Yes you can use rechargeable batteries. Bear in mind that they're illegal to use at night unless used in conjunction with an additional BS Approved light. Amazon fail to mention this, and I suspect many Amazon reviewers are obliviously riding illegally on the roads because of it.

Since I posted this I've bought the lights ... or a v similar Raleigh model ... they came with batteries and so far I've not had to change them.
Good lights!

I've owned the lights two weeks and was pulled over by the police who informed me they weren't legal. Then I noticed on the box that it says "This product must be used in conjunction with a BS approved light". Stupid me for not checking for the relevant mark, but still... you'd think Amazon would mention this in the product description.
