Product Description

This high quality automatic macro Extension Tube Set is designed to enable a lens to focus closer than its normal set minimum focusing distance. Getting closer has the effect of magnifying your subject (making it appear larger in the viewfinder and in your pictures). They are exceptionally useful for macro photography, enabling you to convert almost any lens into a macro lens at a fraction of the cost while maintaining its original optical quality.
The DG extension tubes have no optics. They are mounted in between the camera body and lens to create more distance between the lens and film plane. By moving the lens father away from the film or CCD sensor in the camera, the lens is forced to focus much closer than normal. The greater the length of the extension tube, the closer the lens can focus.
It comes as a set (10mm+16mm). It contains 2pcs tubes in different length 10mm/16mm, which can be used in any combination or individually to obtain the different magnification.
Designed with electronic contacts, which make it support automatic focusing, automatic exposure, etc. It enables you to use all shooting modes of the camera, exposure compensation is required.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value and quality 8 July 2013
Just bought a set of these for my Olympus OM-D, and to be honest at the price they're are better than expected! The build quality is very good, the mounting plates at both ends of the tubes are made of metal alloy, not plastic as in some of the others in this price range. The electrical contacts operate smoothly when attaching to the camera and in use all the usual electrical functions are communicated between camera body and lens. They are also quite small and light, so will definitely be taking a permanent place in my camera bag!

At about a third of the price of another well known brand they are very good value, so if you are looking for a set of tubes these should definitely be considered.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the money 20 Nov 2013
Verified Purchase
Ordered (from China) at 11pm on 8th November and email told me it had been dispatched at 4 am on 9th November. Predicted delivery date was 19 th Nov and they missed by 24 hrs. (arrived lunchtime today).

A little concerned that there was no paperwork at all in the jiffy bag, nor any instructions and the tubes were just presented in a plain white cardboard box.

Inside the tubes were labelled ft1 (for four thirds presumably) and it was fairly clear how they worked - locking buttons etc worked and I worked them a few times into each other as they did seem to be a very tight (accurate !) fit. I thought this would save any problems when fitted to my EPM2. I then dusted them off and blew them clean with my lens brush/blower to avoid anything getting onto the sensor (after me working the two rings together earlier).

I have been confused by some extension tube ads saying you can't use a tube length shorter than the focal length of the lens you are using - I've always understood that as a rule of thumb you divide the focal length of the lens into the tube length and you get the magnification. So I stuck the 10 and 16 together to get 26 mm of tube and hoped to get a 1:1 image (on the sensor ) with my standard Olympus lens set to 26 mm. Doing measurements on the full image that is exactly what happened. However, I then experimented and managed to get images of 2/3 size with the lens set to 36 mm and was pleased to be able to still focus with the 26 mm of tube attached and the lens set at 22 mm and then 21 mm. Admittedly the UV filter I keep on the front of the lens for protection was only 1 cm away from the orchid and moss I was photographing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Macro extension tyubes 22 July 2013

Seems well-made and accurately-made enough and lots cheaper than an Olympus version would be - which isn't available anyway. Metal mounting bayonets, rest good quality plastic. Only issue was intermittent contacts when supplied, fixed by cleaning the contacts with Servisol.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works very well. 4 Nov 2013

While the item took much longer than expected to arrive, it works just as advertised. Auto exposure and auto focus are maintained (although I suggest using manual focus as the range is so tiny) and the tubes are extremely light weight (due to plastic construction and metal only on the mount).

The only thing keeping this from being a 5 star rating is that the tubes are "sticky" when they mount to the camera - the fit is almost too tight. This does get better with use though.

With my Olympus 60mm macro, I can get something like 1.3 times life size. With the 75mm, you have a great bug combo.

Highly recommended for the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth a punt 17 Nov 2013

I bought these after reading about them on a forum. For the money I didn't expect anything great. Packaging was a bit grim, but the tubes are spot on. They are well made with no sloppiness. If I lost these, I'd definitely buy another set.
