Raghava, This is a pretty useless device. There is insufficient solar charge to charge it's own internal battery and therefore will never charge anything as demanding as any large screen smart phone. I tried to use it with a very unsophisticated Sony Xperia and it never had the energy to do that job. Regards, Bill

Yes, you can leave it plugged into the mains via a USB charger indefinitely, all it will do is consume electricity needlessly. This device does not have sufficient capacity to charge a smart-phone from it's solar function alone. A poor buy.
