Should be ideal as they won't mark the floor- the material is quite thick although the strips are quite narrow and I don't know the dimensions of the gymnastic mats. Should work fine for yoga mats.

I am not an expert on materials, but it appears to be the same type of soft rubber used in underlay, and my experience of that is, that it turns to powder eventually, but that is after approx 20 years !! hope that helps..

I doubt it very much. I didn't find it much use in stopping mats moving. Hope this helps.

It might do i put some on my leather sofa and placed my throw over it , if you sit on it it doesn't move so it's worth a try

I use this in several places in my house. It wasn't a great success stopping a cover from slipping off my settee but has been very good at stopping my chopping mat from slipping off my work surface in the kitchen. On balance I would say it's better on flat surfaces.
