I am not entirely sure what you mean about the blue light, and yes the hose can get warm but there is hot steam running through it, nothing you can burn yourself on though.

The steam that was still presented in the hose has cooled down and condensed into water. This causes water droplets to come out of the soleplate. Point the steam flow away from the garment for a few seconds. (from instruction book)But what you can do every time after long ironing session when iron is cold remove the Easy De-Calc knob and let the water flow in to the cup or sink.
