Yes. Although it says 'iPad' in the title it's still just a Bluetooth keyboard. It works fine with my Android phone, iPad and PC :)

Yes, it connects via Bluetooth. Works without WiFi. Tested on an iPad Air and an iPad Mini.

Never tried this myself. It should work if only 1 iPad was on at any one time. The connection with the keyboard is via Bluetooth.

I currently use this with my iPad and it works fine. And as far as I aware providing your laptop supports bluetooth then this item should work with your laptop also. Very good product.

It's very unlikely to be encrypted, but the bluetooth range is around 30 or 40 feet, so the risk of keystrokes being copied is remote.
