The base itself is a plastic casting and very light, the weight of plugs and cables makes it top heavy, it can topple over. There is room underneath to attach some sort of weight, I clued heavy fishing weights to the underside, problem solved.

I have a lot of plugs in my bedroom and only two sockets. I bought this product and it worked so well I bought another one for the living room. It also looks a lot tidier as all the wires are all in one place. And I have plugged 12 items into it and it is perfectly safe
