I haven't tried it with bread dough, only cake batter, egg whites and whipped cream. It seems to be fairly robust and I was impressed that my whipped cream didn't turn into something not to far off butter. I'm sorry I can't be of more help to you. Helen

Have you put the blades the correct way round? Check that the blade with the metal 'stop' is in the hole that has the picture with the 'stop' next to it - if still clashing, then sounds as if you will have to return it - mine has been fine.

I also noticed that however I've used it many times since and no further bother. But for your own safety if it continues perhaps best to return for another one. But I would highly recommend it for all baking/ cooking needs.

A fraction under 2lbs 5oz (or 1kg) with the two beater blades attached. It doesn't feel heavy when I am using it and, because it is so efficient, I don't have to hold it for too long. I love the flat base for when you put it down on the worktop. I am very pleased with it - a bargain at the price.
