I assume that you are referring to the bolt underneath the top of the stand and forms an adjustable hinge. The handle on the end with enough force should unwind the nut in order to slacken it and remove it. The alternative would be to contact the supplier and ask them for advice.

First time assembly was difficult for me. But with perseverance got there. Offer the top plate into the 'curved' recesses and then inset the bolt ensuring the square end of the bolt goes into the square slot. Once done, you realise how simple it is.

Why ask me ? I'm just another buyer. Good stand, though. You could try making a bag, perhaps out of an old pair of jeans. If your bum is big enough to accommodate the top, that is. I might try that, come to think of it. LOL
