The fitting is a stainless steel equivalent - Inox - and has a "brushed" finish as opposed to a polished finish. We use low energy bulbs the glass shade is deep BUT we bought 3 lamps two years ago and now only have one, they rust pretty quickly and the glass shade isn't really firmly attached which makes it fragile outdoors.
Wouldn't buy again they look good but style over substance

Had the same problem - unfortunately separate glass cover not available - I had to purchase a complete fitting just to get new glass cover. Something the manufacturer should be looking at....the most vulnerable part of the fitting......

3 core connection - the body of the lamp is made from stainless steel. So two core for the supply plus earthing core = 3 core.
