This is a very sharp book, ticking all the boxes for being 'modern' and 'hip', gratuitous sex, some violence, contemporary music references... you can tell that the author is just crying out wanting this book to be turned into a film. It's a pretty quick read (200 pages goes very fast), engaging for the first half, but unfortunately once you get beyond the halfway point you realise that the storytelling is stuck in a loop. Although moving from city to city, there is very little character progression (except to a small degree in the character of Amy) and the ending just sort of tails off rather than having a resolution. So, a great attitude for a first novel, a good storytelling technique, but a limp second half.
