De amor y de sombra tells a story that makes you cry, smile, fall in love, think, question, but most important, it reminds you of our Latin American suffering. Beautifully written, Allende seduces you to read until the end has been reached, leaving you with the only desire but to return to the begining and live once again through the pleasures and suffering of the story.
