Bearing in mind there's probably no such thing as a 'perfect' garlic press, the Zyliss is one if the best I've used.
It really does allow cloves to be pressed without peeling and gets a very high proportion of the clove 'through'. However, this effectiveness especially with unpeeled cloves inevitably means the skins are tightly pressed in. So you have to fiddle a little to get them out, but no worse than many presses without a removable plate (I have one - but the Zyliss is still more efficient and robust). A tip - if you use a nylon washing brush on the reverse side, you can make short work of getting the skins out.

I don't have this newer model -- my older one has been holding up great for years.
But a helpful tip is to drop a clove (or two, if they're really small) so that the round base is at the bottom of the cup, and the pointy tip is up.
Then after you've pressed out the goody, the tip acts like a "handle" and you can just pluck out the husk of the empty clove skin. It's also really helpful to rinse out the cup right after using it, rather than an hour later when you're done eating (and everything has dried on).

I purchased this garlic press after researching for one on the internet. The Zyliss one kept coming up top, so I took the plunge and purchased it.
I hate cutting and peeling garlic by hand, and read that this garlic press presses without the need to peel.
When I first tried it, it did indeed crush the garlic very effectively. However, I soon realised that the time saved on using a garlic crusher to crush the garlic was cancelled out by the time needed to clean the device. The little holes get garlic stuck in that is very stubborn. The packaging states that the device is as easy to use as it is to clean. This is misleading. It is not easy to clean.
I've only had it a week and the non-stick coating has started to peel off too. I wish I had purchased a stainless steel one with a cleaning attachment now.

garlic press
very good garlic press. the best i have used for crushing garlic. i tend to wash in a dishwasher and you need to get all the residue out before you put it in the dishwasher.

Worked extremely well
The press removed all the skin and squeezed the total contents of the garlic clove through the holes. Seems easy to clean as well.
