I know Zovirax is the leading brand in cold sore cream, but it does not live up to its claims, of reducing and healing cold sores. I have a cold sore every so often, and have used this cream several times, and it never seems to work. I am sad to say it does not reduce swelling or tingling, and does not help my cold sore heal in any way. I was very disappointed with this expensive 2g tube of cream. Other times I have had a cold sore I have tried cheaper brands of cream that seem to work better. Other times I have not used any cream at all and let the cold sore heal naturally on its own. This cream does not work better than cheaper brands or mother nature, therefore, do not waste your money on this, most expensive product.

I suffer from cold sores quite often so always have this at hand. It's great! As soon as I start using it, it IMMEDIATELY stops getting any worse! If I have a full blown blister, it usually takes about a week to recover. If I notice my lip tingle (which is the first sign in most cases) I just apply it and it never gets to the stage of a blister, which means I've actually stopped it from happening in the first place. Right at this minute I just noticed a small bump where a blister is getting bigger (and it literally takes minutes to get massive!) I've applied the cream and I guarantee you, it won't get any bigger! Its amazing! The only downside is that it is expensive.. But saying that, you only need a tiny amount; it lasts ages! All cold sore creams tend to be pricey though, and all you'll save from buying a shop brand, is maybe a pound so you're best off buying a better brand like Zovirax.

I find this product works very well, if used at the first sign of a tingle. Also if a cold sore develops, it doesn't seem as bad if Zovirax has been used.
