The only negative thing about this product is that using the menu with the finicky buttons needs a bit of practice. Saying that once you have the hand of this the sound recording quality is amazing for its size. It is incredibly sensitive and has the bonus of four track recording and being very portable it is so convenient. It takes two AA batteries which last quite a while and again is convenient. We use these in university and I don't own one yet being a student I keep waiting for them to go down in price - no such luck yet - wish list I think.

Great piece of kit, easy to use and good accessories-using it for a local radio station my positive opinion was cemented when I notice one day that many BBC people endorse it too. One snag- the pop shield is essential in the slightest breeze and unfortunately does not sit very safely on the unit- hence it can come away and get lost very easily. Anyone know where I can get a replacement pop shield? Otherwise a superb piece of kit and excellent value....

I purchased the Zoom for both professional sound recording for film making and also for pleasure when jamming with a friend, and it has not dissapointed in any way. I hav'nt used the 4 track facility yet or the effects which are endless! but the quality of the recordings I have made have been excellent. My daughter recommended I buy one as she works in Media at a local college,Zoom H4 Compact SD Recorder with Free 4GB Card and Tripod and they use them for Film and Radio.
