3.0 out of 5 stars Nice piccies, but its all so small and crowded 12 Nov 2010
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
Unquestionably cute and adorable baby animal pics, but in a v squashed up format - the pages are 6" square and into this is squashed pictures & text.

Seems a little expensive for what it is so i just hope the zoos that contribute get a big cut.

NB this is the Kids version - its not clear which is which on Amazon

1.0 out of 5 stars I feel cheated 14 Dec 2012

EXACTLY the same as a previous `Zoo Borns' book but with a different cover and a higher price. The cover is misleading as it says `The newest, cutest animals from the world's zoos and aqariums' and the other copy I brought says `The cutest baby animals from zoos around the world' which implies that this copy is an updated copy with NEW animals.

Facts are wrong in each book too. For example the giraffe - Giraffa camelopardalis, is currently `least concern' on the IUCN red list of threatened species, however in BOTH books giraffes are stated to be endangered. Where they got this information from I do not know, when any member of the public can find this correct information how could the publishers get it wrong?

Having said that, the pictures are very cute. However I am now left with identical copies (with the exception of the cover and subheading) that were meant to be a gift for one person... I feel so ripped off!

5.0 out of 5 stars buy this book for everyone you know 30 Oct 2010

I've waited months for this, and it didn't let me down. It's a fundraiser for ZooBorns.com and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums Conservation Endowment Fund. If you don't know the website, check it out immediately, then buy the book (or the children's version ZooBorns!).
It's a perfect example of what the web should be and this book is a delightful way to enjoy it offline. Gorgeous pictures, with just enough information to make you want more- but it's all about the pictures.

5.0 out of 5 stars Adorable, a Perfect Gift! 24 Nov 2010
By VeraP - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
ZooBorns features baby animals from zoos and aquariums around the world, and discusses the role that these births play in conservation efforts. Beautiful photos of animals are accompanied by descriptions that include the dates of births, their endangered status, and background stories for each baby.

In ZooBorns pages, you will find well known animals like orangutans, giraffes and kangaroos. However, you will also see photos of animals like the crowned sifaka and the rock hyrax that I've personally never seen or heard of before.

ZooBorns is more of a photo/coffee table book than one that required dedicated reading. The images are too adorable for words and you will definitely find an animal or two that you knew nothing before opening this book. It's likely to appeal to adults and children alike, and will surely spark a conversation in any room!

5.0 out of 5 stars Zooborn fun for "kids" of all ages! 10 Nov 2010
By Ann - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I own both of the ZooBorns books and have bought a bunch of extras to give as Christmas gifts to my niece and nephews. The photos are precious and I love the additional information about each of the animals featured. This book is now prominently displayed on our coffee table. If you are looking for a fun little gift for an animal lover - of any age - you can't go wrong with ZooBorns!
