5.0 out of 5 stars best present 8 Aug 2010
By S Riaz HALL OF FAME TOP 10 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
This enormous book was my five year old son's favourite Christmas present last year. Every toy was cast aside as he pored over the pages. I think this is a must have book, it has been an enduring favourite with my son and my daughter and is almost torn to pieces through over use - the absolute best advertisement of a good book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful! 12 Jun 2010
Format:Hardcover
We LOVE this book. For a start, it is MASSIVE in size - much larger than A4 - and the illustrations are beautiful. It's a great learning tool for children to get to see animals and birds of the world, and their attention can be captivated for many hours as they explore horned beasts, freshwater fish, creatures with spots and stripes, animals that live in hot climates...the list goes on and on!

Children learn what different animals look like, how they live, what they're called - and the little extra "task" of finding the chameleon on each page is also a good way of maintaining a child's interest. I'd say this was a book for all ages; from the very young (one and a half) to the somewhat older (I've seen a thirteen year old captivated by it when he thought he wasn't being watched).

It was given to us as a birthday present and I have gone on to order it for other people as a result of its generic appeal. Did I mention that adults like it too and it can be used as a good animal reference tool?

Well worth every penny spent!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely book 2 Nov 2008
By Tinder
Format:Hardcover
Saw this book today while we were out shopping and will get it for Christmas. It's beautifully illustrated with LOADS of animals under different sections by where they live (water - sand etc) and then by their colour (stripes etc). My daughter loved sitting there and looking at all the animals and I love the art work too. Very wood block printy.
If you child loves animals then it's a must. (they have all the animals names next to them and then facts at the back about them in short notes.
