Having used both Norton and Mcafee in the past I thought I would give Zone Alarm a go. Right choice! It works seemlessly with Norton System Works and AOL and is easy to use.I was using Norton Internet Security 2006 and although effective,it really slowed the day to day running of my computer.

First, I've used ZASS for years and been very happy with it. Indeed, I used to champion it to anyone who was buying security software. It was very good.
As of the version 7 "upgrade" it's now best described as pants.
It slugs the PCs (I have it on 3 of them) something awful.
It takes forever to scan.
Updates frequently fail.
You can't switch off automatic updates/scans without it telling you something's wrong - it isn't, I have a brain, I'd like to update and scan when I want to...
It has bugs where there were none before (e.g. it blanks the number of files scanned when it moves onto the Spyware scan - something it didn't used to do in the previous versions)
There is no proper support (at least without a second mortgage and even then...) as they expect users to support other users. Checkpoint don't even pay attention to the forums.
I think next time round I'll be looking for something else. This is worse than Norton now, and that's saying something.

This must be one of the worst products I have ever bought. I have a brand new lap top running XP home and this software crippled it over night. Kept crashing. Slowing down PC. Crashed my office outlook. Very very buggy. Almost criminal to be charging people for this product. I bought it because I had been using Kapersky and found that product did the job fine but wanted to buy something a little cheaper and the anti virus part of this product used kapersky. Oh boy what a mistake. Don't touch Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite 2007 with a barge pole. I do not lie. It really is that bad.

Resource intensive otherwise ok
The good points - ZA monitors incoming & outgoing apps/data.Checking the outgoing is what makes it good.Even hardware firewalls find that difficult. Read more

I use Zone Alarm Security Suite on the XP OS and have no problems at all. On install customers should let it complete the antivirus/spyware scan and then it's fine. Read more
