Product Description

Size Name: 72mm

Neutral Density filters are used to reduce the quantity of light that reaches the sensor of the camera. They allow to decrease the shutter speed in order to achieve motion blur (waterfalls, ocean, clouds...) and/or to reduce depth of field in very bright conditions. As they are "neutral", ND filters do not affect color rendition.

Filter just arrived and have tried a few test shots and found no colour balance problem - as stated elsewhare - just a very, very slight blue cast which is the correction I would have made anyway. The photo here has no colour correction applied and is very neautral. This was from a 30sec. F11 exposure - overcast lighting. This was a better result than from another make of filter used on a different camera that cost double.

Great filter for the price. Exactly what I was looking for. The packaging is much better than Hoya. The filter does give a slight colour cast, however I shoot RAW so this is easily fixed in Photoshop. The filter itself is very well made, feels sturdy and is very slim, I'm using it on my Sigma 10-20mm Lens with my Nikon D7100 and it's working just fine.

Was skeptical about this filter, since my last 10 stop ND cost me several times more from B+W.

Briefly: Its excellent!

Its exactly 10 stops, measured with a lightmeter.
The colour cast is minimal, warms up the image few degrees.
Its uniform, no changes in the exposure.
It has no visible effect on sharpness, at least I cannot perceive it at 100%.

The MC seems good as well, but cannot see any extra flare with it in the same conditions. Have not had to clean it so far.

The low-profile frame is great, minimal but easy to handle. Also tried to screw it in hard and see if it jams, it was easy to remove all the time.

I bought the Zomei Super Slim filter to take on Vacation; I wanted to take some dreamy long exposures without having to use F22 or a stack of square ND filters as I have done in the past. Using 10d filter of the waters around Fiji and it did the Job well enough. At the wide end of my 16-35mm lens the filter wasn't visible which ticks the slim box; as i have tried other filters that vignetted. The filter does color cast but it was even over the frame and as such it was easily corrected in Lightroom. The photos are some of the most interesting i took on vacation; and it has given me a long exposure bug.

After owning the Zomei 77mm ND1000 for a while now I can safetly say that I am very happy with my purchase. The filter is very well machined and finished, and came in a handy, foam-lined, hard plastic case. The thread is a good fit on all my 77mm lenses, and the knurled rim is easy to grip and turn.

The high quality Schott glass has a very useful amount of IR cut, making for a very neutral white balance when used on my DSLR's. With only a the slightest blue tint noticeable, I have never seen a better colour-balanced high ND filter!

Sharpness is also equally impressive, and testing this filter on my ultra-sharp Sigma 50-150 (a rare and sadly discontinued lens, which is as sharp as the very best primes, peaking at 54 lpmm), shows no real discernable loss of image clarity on my 7D mk2.
However, a very subtle loss of overall and local contrast is apparent when pixel peeping, indicative that this filter does indeed soften the image, though in all practicality this is a non-issue in the real world.

Vignetting is also extremely well handled. Thanks the low profile design, I see no frame-vignetting even with my 10mm UWA. There is however an increase in peripheral vignetting at these kind of focal lengths - though this is due to the extremely low angles that the light passes through the filter at the frame edge when using UWA's, and is simply a limitation of all flat filters at these kinds of extreme fields of view, coupled with the exageration of any native lens vignetting cause by the typically long exposure times used with this kind of filter. Despite this, overall this filter is still a top performer in this area.

I bought this as an alternative to the Lee BigStopper. It was excellent value for money. It works perfectly and I have had no problems using it on my 5D for the purpose I purchased it. Colour cast is not a problem, and easily corrected for especially when shooting RAW and even on the camera itself.

Very good glass. Well designed and easy to handle in spite of being very slim. Very little colour cast. This is different from cheaper products of the same brand which can have a pretty strong cast.

Seems to come in at around the advertised 10 stops.
