You're a stuffed bunny, and it's the end of the world. Between you and your objective are forty or fifty zombies gorging themselves on the flesh of the living. If you disguise yourself as one of them and try to sneak past the feeding frenzy, turn to page 183.If you grab a tire iron, flip out and get medieval on their undead asses, turn to page 11. Zombocalypse Now is a comedy/horror reimagining of the choose-your-own-ending books you grew up with. You'll be confronted with undead hordes, internet dating, improper police procedure, and the very real danger that you'll lose your grip on reality and wind up stark raving mad. The zombie apocalypse has never been this much fun.

I loved this book even though is was a bit of a problem to go backwards and forwards to different page numbers with the kindle but once i had got used to it i found that i was having a lot of fun. The Bunny was a good idea as it is not too often that you get to be a Stuffed Bunny running around in a Zombie book doing your very best to survive.
I picked this up after feeling nostalgic for pick-your-own adventure books and coming to the conclusion that the kindle was a good format for this particular genre.
"Zombocalypse Now" is a light and entertaining take on the zombie apocalypse told from the point of view of a slightly clueless survivor just trying not to become one of the mindless creatures. The humour is quirky and has a satirical edge and will certainly make you smile. The pick-your-own element is fairly random and really the 'decision' you face at the end of each section may as well be down to the flip of a coin as obvious 'good' choices can often lead to your demise... although that's all part of the fun! The kindle format does work particularly well in this respect as there is a handy 'Back' button when you reach the end of a scenario (typically a gruesome death) which lets you retake your last decision. It is difficult to say more about the plot other than there are a huge variety of paths for your character and each read through won't take that long making it a good title to have for those times when you just want something easy going and amusing.
The only slightly negative point is that the character is a pink stuffed bunny - I appreciate this was probably the author's attempt at catching people's attention (and I guess it worked on me because it caught my eye and I bought it - and I know you're not supposed to judge them on their cover), but as a plot device I don't think it worked particularly well. Most of the other characters largely seem to ignore this fact and it is only relevant occasionally. A slightly hapless human would have been more relatable and most of the times I read it I was imagining a human rather than a bunny.
Just when you thought zombies had jumped the shark, this little gem turns up! In this offering, Matt Youngmark pumps fresh breath into the tired, flacid lungs of the undead. Riddled with interesting options, surprising twists and hilarious outcomes, this had me flipping back to the beginning to try alternate plot lines over and over again.
If you remember the adventure game books of yesteryear with fondness, but like to be entertained by a tale with modern comedic sensibilities, this is for you. I'll definitely be looking out for other offerings from this author.
Seemed a great idea, but the trouble is that each time you restart the book you are re-reading the same material, so I have tired of it before reading everything in the book or indeed completing it.
