Product Description

Theodore Granger believes he’s cursed. He’s spent the last ten years locked away inside his apartment. But today is his day, the day he is to venture out into the world again. There is only one simple task on his agenda: walk one block, cross the street, and have a cup of coffee with his shrink. The only problem is, he chose the wrong day.

Enjoy this short story based in the world of my novel Don of the Living Dead.

I like this, more than I thought I would. The author has a knack of getting under the skin of his characters. I knew George, I'm sure everyone has met a George. His eccentricities grew seemingly stranger and stranger until at the end we get the twist. Nicely done! With the short story finished, Robert DeCoteau gives us a sample of his novel, Don of the Living Dead. Now, normally I don't like this - not sure why, I just don't. I like to read the short, and go find more works by the author if I want to - not have it thrust upon me. But, in this instance it works. The novel opens almost as a continuation of the short. Again, he creates real characters, with real reactions, and ends with me wanting more.

'Zombie Tales: Primrose Court Apt 205' is the first story of three short stories which are in the same universe of 'Don of the Living Dead' by Robert DeCoteau. Theodore Granger lives in Apartment 205, he owns Primrose Court and is agoraphobic (a fear of public places) and today is the first time in ten years that he is leaving his apartment to meet his therapist, Theodore wants to go out, he knows he has to but due to a never~ending bad luck streak, Theodore believes he is cursed, bad things happen around him and lives are lost, and Theodore becomes ill.

As Theodore waits to face the world, his neighbours are annoying him as usual (his neighbours incessant arguing and the strange teenager who lives above them) but what he and his neighbours do not realise, is that the world is changing outside for everyone.

Theodore Granger has to be the most unluckiest person in the world and I understood completely why he could not face going outside. Despite the fact its a short story, Robert DeCoteau successfully highlights Theodore agoraphobia in a real and sympathetic way which made for interesting reading. By the end of the story, you will wish along with Theodore that he really should have stayed at home.

An interesting introduction showing the human side of an approaching Zombie outbreak.

A great short story that i really enjoyed reading about a character called Theodore Granger. Theodore is a typical person with ocd who stays in his apartment where this short story begins then untwines into a fun read. The story gets left at a point where it seems like"was that the end" but then i realised you will have to read the other two accompanying short stories to get the whole story which i have just started reading book two.
Again as other people commented was just a bit disapointed the story just stopped half way through and then went into a sample of another book but not a major concern.
Its a great read and this author will go far in his career if he keeps up the standard of writing in this book. Grab it and read it.
