Product Description

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the Stockholm Club.

Have we got a special treat for you tonight! We’re privileged to have with us, a highly talented county and western singer, all the way from exotic Birmingham. I know that you’ll give the lad a fantastic Yorkshire welcome.

Don’t forget, the first drink is on the house.

Now before all you geriatric parasites slouch over to the bar and start making your way through my alcohol, I’d just also like to mention that there is a chance that some of my staff may turn into flesh eating zombies as the night wears on.

In fact, I think I can confidently predict that most of you will resemble jackal stripped zebra carcasses before the dawn sun makes an appearance.

So please enjoy tonight’s live entertainment and drink like there’s no tomorrow. Let’s face it; you ain’t going to be seeing it.
--------------------------------------------------------------

Despite attempts to quarantine the Breakspear housing estate, the infection has somehow spread further into the city. Whole neighbourhoods are falling to the undead plague.

On the outskirts, the staff and customers of the Stockholm Club have no idea that the moaning dead are slowly shambling towards them.

Praise for Walking with zombies.
-----------------------------------------------

All in all, this is a solid story, tight, well-paced and cements Woodhead as one of the most exciting zombie novelists in the country - Sean T Page. Author of The Official Zombie handbook (UK)

Squeamish people should steer clear. The characters are well developed and well written, Mr. Woodhead is able to bring characters that don't fit the usual zombie thriller stereotypes with a practiced ease – Robert DeCoteau. Author of The New Days: The First Son

The incredible attention Mr. Woodhead pays to expressing his characters internal thoughts and emotions is impressive – Sara Beverage. Owner of Zombiefiend.com

This story is the second volume in the Zombie Armageddon series that started with The Unwashed Dead.

The third volume, Infected Bodies, is now available.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Zombie Invasion of Bradford? 29 July 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
OK - this book is part of a larger story, all based around a major zombie outbreak on a council estate in the North of England but you know what, it can easily stand on its on own two feet. It's not a part two, so if you are interested in Woodhead's work, it's as good a place as any to start. (His other works as just as good.)

Woodhead's world is real, gritty & the characters are just about as nasty as the zombies. It's UK-based so for fans here it's refreshing to see the UK zombie perspective coming through loud & clear.

It's a sworded tale with some pretty unpleasant characters, for example Talbot Field - a violent heavy. The story moves on into a startling tale of zombie survival looked at from the unsual perspective of a bar. The tension builds throughout the novel like a pressure cooker which keeps you gripped to the story.

This isn't a massive novel but I found there was plenty of character development in there & it didn't feel rush. There are also a few lessons in there for all us. Firstly, don't ever try to box with a zombie - you can't beat them. Secondly, a long column of military vehiles coming towards you is never good news.

All in all, this is a solid story, tight, well-paced and cements Woodhead as one of the most exciting zombie novelists in the country. I also think he deserves some kudos for managing to merge Andy Bell from Erasure into a zombie story.

Step into Woodheads violent world of zombies if you dare!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lively tale of undeath 31 July 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Ian Woodhead has once again shown himself to be a master of zombie mayhem with his latest work, Walking With Zombies, to provide a gritty - and suitably gory - follow up to his novel The Unwashed Dead.

The story isn't a straightforward sequel, with events picking up where the previous work left off, rather the story runs parallel, but it takes the slaughter-fest into the wider city. Infection is spreading through Bradford, turning the unsuspecting residents into zombie hordes, and for the staff and clientele of the Stockholm Club, it all means they're in for one Hell of a night.

Walking With Zombies is a novella, but it has everything you'd expect to find in a good zombie tale: gruesome death, gore, and a disparate group of people thrown together in a do-or-die effort to stay alive against the odds. And it's all painted in living detail by an author who not only has an affectionate rapport with his characters and his subject matter, but who is also a talented storyteller.

3.0 out of 5 stars I need more! 30 Dec 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Why no ending? Like the first book it left me a little disappointed as it abruptly ends mid flow following a fantastic story.
Don't get me wrong, although I have given 3 stars, I really enjoyed the book. Ians style of writing really gets the juices flowing. The characters were great, plot marvellous, really set the scene, drew me in no end yet it just stopped leaving me upset that I did not know what happened to them.
As with the first book there were many mistakes but they are silly things like repeated / incorrect words that spell check is probably too stupid to notice.
Please say theres a third book out soon for the series... And Ian, I'm fast becoming a big fan, already purchased zombiedead which looks awesome.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good UK zombie horror 23 Nov 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
This is the first of Ians books that I've read, and I wasn't disappointed.
It's real raw and gritty, I found it easy to visualise the dirty streets and the characters are very individual. I've never known such a wide variety of person type, the gore is good and the horror is damn scary in parts.
Its very realist in the way it reads, in that, Yes I would do that in that situation. I like that style very much.

There's also a very interesting pair of zombie characters. Well worth a read.

This is actually the second in the series, but still reads well on its own, although I will be reading more!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a fan of Ian Woodhead 23 May 2013

Never took to any of Woodhead's zombie novels . Read quite a few to give him a chance but there is something missing and unsettling about his Breakspear estate novels.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great British Zombie Book...Finally! 14 May 2013
By kimbers
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I'm a great fan of the zombie genre and am slightly addicted to reading them at the moment. Its such a refreshing change to have them based in not only England but the north of England at that! Something I can relate to much more that the usual american zombie novel (as much as i do enjoy them) this has been a great series and couldn't recommend it more! Fab!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent continuation from book one! 25 Feb 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I loved Book 1 from the Zombie Armageddon, but this one was even better. I feel that Ian had tested the grounds with the first book and the writing in this instalment seemed to be far more decisive. The characters were even better and developed well over the course of the story. I loved the setting of the seedy nightclub, complete with seedy nightclub owner. It just seemed that as soon as you thought the bad guy of the book had been introduced, Ian brings in someone ten times worse.

This series is about more than just zombies.

I can't wait to see what number 3 will bring!

5.0 out of 5 stars another great zombie story 13 Jan 2013
By dean s
Format:Kindle Edition
This book is the second book in the zombie armageddon set of books written by the talented mr woodhead.
The story is set on the outskirts of the Breakspear housing estate up north, which has been infected with loads and loads of these walking dead zombies. The stockholm club is a club that hasnt been infected and is outside the housing estate where unbeknown to the people enjoying themselves inside the club on this particular night, that the undead are heading thier way and towards the rest of the city.
Theres some great characters in this from the evil Talbot Fields who is fantastic, and also this book contains the normal amount of grossness to be expected from ian. Once somebody inside the club gets bitten then the whole place turns to hell and the story opens up to a bloodfest.
An enjoyable book in the series and cant wait for the next ones in the pipeline. Get out there and read it now
