If you like Pratchett or Tom Sharpe then you'll love Ireland's work. It has all the clever word play you'd expect from Pratchett but with an edginess and worldliness more like Sharpe at his best.
The characters shine and although it is all wizards and elves the subject has been given a neat twist and the interaction with real characters make this much more than another jump-on-the-bandwagon type book.
All is left ready for a sequel which I hope will be available really soon ... I want to know what happens to those sex-crazy nuns! (And if that doesn't get you ordering the book, I don't know what will).
