When I first got the Duo, I was really excited to try it out, because I had seen pictures of the pops that it made and I thought they looked fantastic. I didn't think I could make something at home that looked so much better than anything I could get at the store. Of course, my kids were excited about it, too, and had lots of ideas that they want to try out with it.
It's actually very easy to make the pops and Zoku has really thought this out to make it as simple as possible. What you do is freeze the main unit for 24 hours and then take it out and put the sticks in that come with it and then pour in your juice or whatever you want to make your pops with. You don't want to add liquids with artificial sweeteners or just plain water because there needs to be some sugar content so the pops remove easily. We just waited for seven minutes for them to freeze (no electricity needed!) and then we used the handy little tool that comes with it to remove the pops. At that point we immediately made another batch and it stayed cold and easily froze all four pops for us. We used Juicy Juice because I like that it doesn't have any sugar in it, but still has fruit sugars so it worked great. We've even started experimenting with striped pops and other fun ideas.
One nice thing about the Zoku Duo is it's compact size. I know people don't want another big appliance to put on their counter, but this one doesn't take up much space at all. Plus, they suggest that you just leave it in your freezer when it's not in use, so it's always ready to go. I know we are going to be getting a ton of use out of this sweet little pop maker!
