Product Description

The Independent, 22 July 2005

Ridley's fast-moving prose has the zing of rap music, and his ebullient imagination is firmly rooted in telling characterisation.

Daily Mirror, 1 August 2005

A clever, captivating novel about a trolley that comes to life. A treat for confident readers.

This is the best book my 12 yr old son has ever read. He has never read a book in less than a week untill he picked this up! He says it was very funny, exciting and every chapter was left on a cliffhanger, there for leaving you wanting more. It has given my son the urge to read more books by this author and others. We highly recomend this book to readers young and old!

A Kid's Review
Mr Ridley has never been my favourite author. However when I read Zips Apollo (for this review I will call it ZA) he was consigned to a hell reserved normally for Jaqueline Wilson and Jeremy Strong.
ZA is truly apalling.Maybe I'm a killjoy but the whole trolley premise to me is dumb, the narrative cliched, the characters wooden and the whole thing feels tacky and lacking in inspiration.
Many authors try to walk the tightrope between funny and stupid. It's a fine line and Mr Ridley fails spectacularly.
Do not read if you wish to save your brain cells.
