This children's book, a celebration of music filled with rhythmic and alliterative verse, is about ten instruments that come together to form a musical group. The book was a 1996 Caldecott Honor book (i.e., a runner-up to the Medal winner) for best illustrations in a book for children. Children will love to read (or sing) along with their parent.

My two year old daughter and I love to read this book together. She joins in with the beautiful prose. The climax of the book is when we both enthusiatically shout: "Encore!" And, at the same time the content teaches us about music appreciation, musical instruments and counting. I never tire of reading this book.
