Product Description

Did you know that vigorous dancing burns 250 calories an hour? Dancing is suitable for people of all ages, shapes and sizes and all you need is a little music and space. Dancing has a vast array of benefits: it reduces stress, increases energy, improves strength and muscle tone, decreases blood pressure and lowers your risk of dementia. Dance is an exciting, body-boosting activity that anyone can try. With a bit of practise - and some positive thinking - even complete beginners will be able to master the routines in this book. This book shows you how you can dance your way to fitness - starting with a comprehensive ballet-style warm-up with core strength exercises. It gives a brief introduction benefits of dancing and the author tries to determine what kind of dance workout best suits you. This is followed by five dance workouts - Latin, Hip Hop, Burlesque, Bollywood and Broadway. You will see that each routine gives a fantastic all-over body workout. Each routine is illustrated with easy to follow step-by-step photography. Each dance workout is designed by a professional choreographer. There are general fitness guidelines, tips on nutrition, keeping injury free, clothing and case studies.

Format:Paperback
An absolute gem of a book, easy, informative and more importantly full of exciting tips on how to dance and have tons of fun at the same time, as we all know how dull the gym can sometimes get. Essential for any professional dancer, dance student, amateur dramatics member, fitness fanatic or regular joe who just wants to do something different from their regular exercise routine.

You'll be toe tapping and leg flicking in no time!

dancing fit 25 April 2007
Format:Paperback
This book is an accessible and informative read. Written in the same snappy and non-pretentious style as Zest magazine, the workouts are easy to follow and offer something for everyone and the real life case studies are a nice touch. Nicely illustrated and with an easy-to-use format I would recommend this to anyone who wants to try out dance but needs to build up the confidence to go to a class or, like many of us, is too busy to go and needs something effective they can do in the comfort of their own homes!
