Are You Kidding Me? 6 Aug. 2014
By Robert C. Reynolds - Published on
Format: Paperback
Are you kidding me? For nearly 50 years, since Macalester days, I have marveled at Bruce's escapades with this query, and so it is with the episodes of Zero to Sixty . Within these very readable tales is a lovable and vulnerable guy, who exudes boyish innocence as the cover for what is not only inexplicable but inscrutable. Paradoxically, his memoirs reveal someone surprisingly knowable. Bruce's hilarious, sometimes terrifying stories reveal an aging wonder who is funny, fool-hardy, competitive, inquisitive, appreciative, imaginative, hopeful, artistic, and uncannily lucky. I have had the pleasure of meeting the author (he is married to my aunt), but never did I anticipate that he would author a memoir of a roller coaster, drag racing, skydiving kind of life. As surprised as I was with the turn of each page, I found myself chuckling throughout the entire book, and gasping, but loving every second of it. It is a wonderful quick read (mostly because you cannot put it down once you start), and worth the asking price - and then some!

Haven't Laughed So Hard in Years! 26 Jun. 2014

Having grown up in So. St. Paul Minnesota, I spent a lot of time in White Bear Lake baby-sitting for a family right on the lake. Now wonder if this was near the launch site for the Hydroplane! I don't think I can choose a favorite escapade.
Bruce truly has lived a charmed life and here's hoping he has some bonus cat lives in his bag of life.
