5.0 out of 5 stars Mindblowing, 27 Nov 2003
This review is from: Zero Option (Paperback)
This is the first Chris Ryan novel I a have read and I'm now hooked. The authors unique writing style is chilling, funny, violent and moving, whilst giving a realistic feel to a story thats so action packed and beautifully written. It gives a gripping insight into the life of an SAS soldier whose life has taken a turn for the worse.

When Geordie Sharp arrives home and realises his family have been kidnapped, he desperately tries to find a way to beat the seemingly untouchable enemy. Many other events unfold but I wouldn't want to give too much away. Its obvious that Chris Ryan has had simular experiences to that of the main character, as the description of such small things make it feel almost biographical. The sense of realism this book gives is like nothing i've read before.

I would recommend Zero Option to anyone who enjoys this type of story and its a must have for any Chris Ryan fan. Brilliant!

5.0 out of 5 stars Chris Ryan - "Zero Option" , 19 Mar 2007
This review is from: Zero Option (Paperback)
'Zero Option' is a fantastic read. At the start, (like in all of Chris Ryan's books), it grips the reader, and keeps this hold throughout the whole novel. The text is imformative, with correct facts and figures. The missions in the book slowly sink out, keeping the reader on the edge of his/her chair, tearing through the pages to read more. Use of good description helps to portray Geordie Sharp's feelings and emotions, adding good character to the story. Writing the novel in first person as Geordie really freshens the book.

All in all a very good book. I would reccomend this and other books by Chris Ryan to anyone in the need of a good novel.

I hope this review helped.

4.0 out of 5 stars Realistic and gripping, 3 Jul 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Zero Option (Paperback)
I felt that this encounter with Geordie Sharp far surpassed 'Stand By, Stand By'. Chris Ryan's fiction is only second to Andy Mcnab and I think that this is a real compliment to Ryan. The fact he can be compared to Mcnab is a real achievement and I eagerly await his future novels.
