Book Description

The scorching new Nick Stone thriller from the bestselling author of Bravo Two Zero.

Product Description

When the beautiful 20-year-old daughter of a Moldovan businessman goes missing from her university, British Intelligence will do anything in its power to track her down. Only one man is skilled and ruthless enough for the job – but for the first time in his life Nick Stone doesn’t want to play ball... FACT: On 5 September 2007, Israeli jets bombed a suspected nuclear installation in northeastern Syria. Syrian radar – supposedly state-of-the-art – had failed to warn of the incoming assault. FACT: Unknown to anyone but the Israelis and the radar’s manufacturers, the commercial, off-the-shelf microprocessors within it contained a remotely accessible kill switch. But what is the raid’s mysterious connection with the missing student? What is the secret to Britain’s security to which she unwittingly holds the key? And when ex-SAS deniable operator Nick Stone is tasked to find and abduct her, why is he not on ‘receive’?I stared at the tiny shadow on the scan. It was hard to believe that this little f****r was going to kill me. I’d always imagined it would be something bigger, the diameter of a fist, a rifle butt or a 7.62. Dying like this? It felt so... pedestrian. I tried to smile. ‘I always wondered what a death warrant looked like. Does it have a ‘use by’ date?’As Nick walks from the Harley Street clinic, he’s become a man with nothing to lose. And he wants to go down fighting...

low life expectancy 23 Jan 2011
By N. Brett TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Hardcover
The latest Nick Stone novel starts in an interesting place. Stone has finally made some money and is enjoying a penthouse flat and a very nice car. Sadly he hears some bad news from a doctor which suggests he may have less time to enjoy himself then he anticipated. He therefore decides to `go out with a bang' and accepts a job from the Security Services to track down the daughter of an arms dealer that has gone missing.

Stone enlists girlfriend Anna to help him and they are soon swept up in the word of people trafficking and an awful lot of bad guys.
The majority of this is very strong as Stone follows the tracks of the missing girl (although why he is not provided with a weapon at the appropriate time felt a little odd) and generally the plot held together well. Having said that the over-arching plot about why the girl is wanted and the link into a previous Stone mission didn't work at all and that pulled me down from four stars into three. What could have been very good indeed ended up just being `okay'. But I suspect McNab fans will love it.

Switch your brain off, sit back, open a beer/ pour a cuppa what ever floats your boat, kick back and enjoy the ride.
that sums up this and almost all of Andys books, You get your usual slice of action pace thrill and adventure, im not really sure what else anyone would be looking for when they purchase a title like this.

You get plenty of Bang for your Buck, but dont look for high brow! Totally enjoyed it for what it was.

First I had to find the Plough, seven stars grouped in the shape of a long-handled saucepan. Draw a line between the two stars that form the side furthest from the handle, extend it upwards by about five times its length, and the star you get to, all on its own, is Polaris. "e;
