5.0 out of 5 stars Very, Very good! 25 Jun 2010
I have owned this speaker for about 6 months now having previously used the Apple Hi Fi speaker. IBefore buying I compared the sound of the Zeppelin with other high end systems, for example the Bose and have to say, that to my ears anyway, the Zeppelin wins hands down. I have it connected via an optical cable to my Apple TV which streams my music wirelessly and the sound is crisp and clear with a very good deep base which does not overpower the sound at all. Also, it looks good! It has a very solid feel and is well built. My Ipod shuffle fits on it perfectly and so I guess the iphone would be no problem. If there is a downside it would be the shape. It would be tricky to wall mount this speaker and of course, unlike conventional speakers, you can't stand anything on top of it. That said, it is by far the best sounding dock system I have heard and rivals much bigger systems with its uncompromising quality. Buy it!B&W Zeppelin - 2.1-channel speaker system with digital player dock for iPod - 100 Watt (Total) - black

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Zeppelin 22 July 2010
By dwd5031
The Zeppelin was a birthday present from my wife on my 60th. It's an awesome piece of kit - looks great and sounds brilliant. Works well with my son's Nano was well as my iPhone. I use it often with streamed music via a RadioBox app on the iphone and the sound is excellent for both music and speach. Highly recommended.

2.0 out of 5 stars Zeppelin -some issues 17 July 2010
By Jon
Ok it looks and sounds great but I have owned this product for two years and have to say that the i Pod dock appears to be very fragile and mine has stopped working twice (telltale is flashing red light)-both times, despite being under guarantee B+W have charged me north of 100 quid to repair it claiming that it wasn't normal wear and tear.In addition after time the speaker developed a persistent low buzz when switching on whilst connected to a SONOS wireless system.Treat with kid gloves.

5.0 out of 5 stars Zeppelin 17 July 2011
This is an expensive speaker but I bit the bullit and am very, very pleased. Not only is the sound amazing, it looks great and has been a talking point a few times. When people hear it they are all very impressed, and my dad so much so he'd going to buy one.
I have a Bose sound dock too. Thats quality but has been relegated to the kitchen as I prefer the Zeppelin and use it more.
If you love music and can justify the price, you won't be disappointed.

By Keith_Joseph HALL OF FAME TOP 50 REVIEWER VINE VOICE
My HiFi system feeds a second set of speakers into the kitchen and the wife nicks it to listen to radio 4. So I decided on a standalone system for my iPod classic that has all my entire ripped CD/LP collection stored on it, and fancied this Zeppelin which costs a fraction of the price I spent on my 25 year old FonsCQ30/SME arm turntable it will replace. Luckily, we had a European teenage lad visiting, who armed with dad's credit card came home this 2.1 channel B&W Zeppelin, the only iPod dock rated a 'best buy' by the magazine 'Which' - so I had a few weeks to try it out on demo at home.

You can connect to this B&W Zeppelin three different ways: using the front mounted iPod dock to play it's content, using a docked iPod Touch/iPhone to stream itself wirelessly from the internet or using the rear panel mounted connection sockets [USB2 for firmware upgrades via a PC, and the Aux jack for non-dockable MP3 players via their headphone socket]. There's also video outs [S-Video and Composite] for sending video from your docked iPod/iPhone to a nearby TV or PC monitor [in iPod low-res though]. Plus there's a standard twin pin radio type mains power in. Unlike the more expensive Zeppelin `Air' this base model can't wirelessly auto-connect together a series of B&W Zeppelin [Airs] or wirelessly stream from a PC iTunes [as this basic Zeppelin has no wireless capability, it relies entirely on your iPod Touch/iPhone wireless features]. However this zeppelin looks great with it's black cloth and stainless steel trim, although I miss the wood trim we got with our equally iconic white Mordent Short Airstream 10 internet radio.

5.0 out of 5 stars and the after sales service is second to none 6 Aug 2010
It should be said that this is a good bit of kit made even better by the after sales srvice. No problem when we had a slight problem they picked it up from our house and dropped it back a week later. All fixed, plus they refurbished the exterior and apologised for the inconvenience and extended the warranty and.....oh boy these guys are tops in customer services - please let a utility company own one of these and need to call them, they may learn a lot.
