This is a four track EP, even though the product description reads as it being a two track. Along with "Zephyr" and "Burned" are the tracks "Mirrorball" and "Rain on Me". "Burned" and "Rain on Me" are not on the full length album and are brilliant tunes that should have been included but sadly were not. As the title of my review suggests, this is just a tease for more from two former Bunnymen who just rock it out. (I know this was recorded during the lovefest of grunge in the mid 90's, but I would not classify it as that genere of music. It's more psychedelic and way heavy on electric guitar, bass and banging drums). My favorite track is "Zephyr" and while it clocks in at almost five minutes, it could drag on for ten and I wouldn't tire of it. Even my four year old requests this in the car (and start them out young on the good stuff and they shun all that is Justin Bieber!) The only negative I could mention is that there are no live tracks like on the "Sister Pain" and "Never" releases (check them out, too). Otherwise once you take this baby for a spin, it will leave you wanting more of the Electrafixion pie which is truly yummy.

Interesting work from Ian McCulloch 29 Oct 2009

This album is a bit repetitive. But it is interesting work if you are a big Echo and the Bunnymen fan as I am. I highly recommend to the collector type. If you hold Echo off at arms length with greatest hits, this album is probably not of interest to you.
Old roots with new sound 13 Nov 2012
By FERNANDO DANNUNZIO R - Published on Amazon.com
Burned is an old rooted Echo & the Bunnymen beat in a modern sound considering that it was released in 1994. Ian is at his best lyrically while rhythmic guitars from Will Sergeant sound aggressively real. This is not the typical Echo album since it is not charged with melodies and rhythm guitars as the best known Echo's songs. Nevertheless, it is maybe one of the better pieces developed by McCullough & Sergeant. If you like based Echo stuff you'll enjoy this one. Being an Echo fan for more than 20 years i consider this one of the best albums I have ever had.
