Zen Speaks is a book that provides the first insights for the novice Zen reader. Its an illustrated book with characters speaking in English, though the Chineese original text is also available on the same page as the illustrations.
The book leads you through the basics in Zen thought and on through to an inspritional way of living, and thought. Zen is, a way of life. It is also how and what you percieve life to be.
Over all a good read and definately a must have.

This is my first encounter w/Zen philosophy, and I must say this book presents it excellently! For Zen's point of "seeing one's mind," this book does a great job. Both the illustrator and writer mesh flow like wind and water, shattering the written word, forcing one to see oneself. Great job!
