Short and sweet, if you like beats - you just can't fault any of the three (2 CD's, 1 DVD) in the latest Zen retrospective collection.
This particular CD has tracks that some may already own, and some that they don't, either way it's packed with class.
You've got Squarepusher ripping up tracks in his drill'n'bass style, a smooth bossa-nova nova remix of the Herbaliser (Something Wicked), followed straight by an easy-summerfied remix of Mr Bowden. The CD is packed with NinjaTune classics given a bit of an edge.
If you are already into the Zen thing buy it, if you are a novice ninja then maybe head for the Zen Retrospective CD as this might be a little challenging in parts.(or maybe not?)
If you have £30ish spare, then buy all three releases, they look good and sound good - what more could you want.

ninja and remixes, you just cannot go wrong really, love this album, got most of original versions anyway, but then those talented people at ninja go and make them just as good, if not better. if you like your ninja, i'd buy it, but wot do i know!

Don't bother with this one. 14 Feb 2011
By Toshio - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
This retrospective is simply that: a recap of songs that have already been released either on full albums or singles. There ARE good songs in here [about 4-7, depending on personal taste]. Nevertheless, these songs have already been featured on wonderful collections such as Ninja Cuts: Flexistentialism and Refried Food. Do yourself a favor and skip this album. Instead, check out the other two albums I mentioned and feast on some more worthwhile Ninja Tunes.

Not Great. 31 Jan 2009
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD Verified Purchase
I picked up this album simply because it was a sequel to the first Zen CD. If I had to use two words to describe this set they would be "Not Great." The first cd in the set starts out with some semi-decent drum and bass but quickly degenerates into, well, I don't know what. It's sort of like a lame trance album that's trying to double as a soundtrack for an 80's movie. I really couldn't get into it. Stick with the first album...
