I purchased this to place ride maps and emergency contact information in when weekend riding. However, this product was more heavy-duty than I desired. It weighed significantly more than I expected, due to the hard plastic pieces that were inserted to give maps structure when placed inside.
This would product would probably be best for touring or riding in areas you are unfamiliar with. It was it was definitely overkill for weekend riding.
Also, the clear plastic used to cover the map had wrinkles, making it difficult to view what was directly beneath the hinge portion.
My last and most major complaint about this case, was the fact that it did not fit on my handlebars with my bike computer installed. There are three straps, one on the handlebar stem, and two on the handlebar itself. The length of the straps and the rigidity of the map case, make it impossible to install with a bar mounted bike computer. Since most people own a bike computer, this is a serious drawback.
