I've spent the last week searching all products on Amazon and across the web looking for a suitable laptop cooler.
I own a Dell Vostro 3500, both are high spec systems. They have side mounted fans which provides cooling but NOT during gaming, at which point the system heats up way over what it should do, I went through 2 heat sinks and a motherboard.
So first of all, the style. It's a nice looking piece of kit, about 20 inches wide so it will fit probably netbook to up to 20 inch wide laptops, and with the rubber feet, will hold them all in place. It has a solid, metal feel to the top and underneith feels plastic enough to be comfy on the lap without feeling cheap in anyway. All in all, good looking.
Performance next, with its two fans and adjustable speed, on paper it looks good. I started testing this by playing a CPU/GPU intensive game that would normally push the limits of my laptops heat resistances, with the fans turned up to max the cooler keeps the laptop well within acceptable limits. It works, it really does work.
I estimate that if your laptop has bottom mounted fans it would function even better, so lets bear in mind that this works very well on my laptop that has side mounted fans meaning that the device is simply pushing air onto the bottom of the laptop.
So why havnt I given the product 5 stars?
I think for a product to be given the highest mark in a review it must go above and beyond what is expected. In some ways it has, I wasnt expecting it to work to the extent it has worked, but it just doesnt have the wow factor to it.
All in all, I would say to any buyer looking to get a laptop cooler that you should by this one, it works well, looks good and doesnt cost too much.
