I bought this cooler because my Dell laptop started to overheat and kept turning off every now and then. Checked out a few other coolers but none of them seemed to have a powerful enough fan and others were just noisy. The Zalman cooler excels in all accounts, its powerful, quiet, light weight, low power consumption and looks pretty good too. It also has the option of variable fan speed which makes it a lot easier to adjust the speed of the fan according to your liking. I ordered the ZM-NC3000U which came with an extra USB port. The cooler effectively solved my laptop problems as it doesn't overheat anymore or switch off even when I run multiple programs at the same time. Overall a very good buy and definitely delivers what it promises.

My Toshiba Satellite laptop would often cut out when playing games such as Guild Wars or Cities in Motion. I have had this product about a month and my laptop hasn't cut out once! I'm very happy with it.
It plugs in via USB to the side of the computer. It has a switch to turn it on and off so I don't have to be using it when I'm not on games. Noise-wise I don't even notice it!

My HP DM4 notebook sits comfortably within interior cooled metal grid of this device, that provides almost silent, but yet audible, cooling. No setup required with USB cable provided, perfect for my purpose as it means the fan switches on/off with the notebook. As I use the cooler taking power (tiny I imagine) from the laptop the on/off switch at the back can be left on (pressed in) at all times. There is no draught on fingers, insured by rubber seal strip at front edge of metal grid, that is inside quite a substantial and reassuringly solid (no creeks or squeeks when lifted with laptop on) plastic surround. Having had both a Dell and HP fail due to overheat issues in the past, it is reassuring that my notebook internal fan is no longer cutting in with it's impression of a hair dryer. Overall probably the best office buy I have made in recent times. Highly recommended.
