although this is too small for my 19" laptop(i know, what was i thinking), the difference in how much cooler the laptop feels is staggering. i used to have to play games at the lowest setting to prevent crashes, but this should solve that. I had another one with 3 fans(cheap one from Maplins), but no small holes for the air to flow through, so the temperature didn't drop too much as the fans were blowing into the original laptop fans inside.This has like 600 holes so the air is distributed all over the base, the whole base of the laptop feels nice and cold. the CPU temp has only dropped by 5 degrees(still impressive), but if you use your laptop for gaming its more than likely your graphics card that is overheating - this does a fantastic job of fixing that. also, the cooling mats you see are a waste of money - they melt after about 5 minutes and you have to remove them because the fabric covers the laptops internal fans. Put in the extra money for this - worth every penny.

about the noise - even at full power this makes very little noise(compared to a powerhouse PC), on minimum(you will prob use this if you leave your computer on overnight downloading) you can barely hear it at all.

This is an excellent laptop cooler. I bought it for my Dell XPS 1640 which is 17" and fits the laptop comfortably and can fit up to 19". The cooler is excellent quality and looks very sleek on the desk. It nicely matches my black laptop. It has USB scockets on both sides to its easy to connect up to the laptop which powers the cooler. I noticed a big performance increase as soon as I started using it. The cooler gets really cold to touch! Keeps the laptop lovely and cool. Really impressed by the performance and even on maximum cooling the unit is very quiet. This is one of the best purchases I have made in a long time. Highly recommend it!

I'm running stacks of recent, high-end games on a brand new 17" laptop that used to heat-up like a skillet. After buying this cooler I'm now running the same games on a laptop that is generally cold to the touch. It's entirely changed the way I approach using the machine.

The only downside is the sound made by the cooler when set on full-tilt - i.e., little more than a steady, gentle whisper of air that you quickly learn to ignore. It's less noticable than the laptop fan which now runs almost silently.

In a nutsehll: if you want to solve any overheating probs with your laptop then this will do it outright. It also looks great and tilts the keyboard forward at a far more comfortable typing angle.

The delivery from amazon via ADMI was also brilliant btw. Ordered during am hours and delivered am the very next day. Cannot ask for more than that!
